A sample of the generator working through a series of actions

As children, we experience the objects around us in a recontextualised manner. The utility takes a backseat and more formal and visual aspects attract the curiosity of a young mind devoid of context. This curiosity was reimagined through an interactive composition generator.

As the participant presses the return key, a script runs on photoshop & applies random actions on a cache of pre-determined assets. Eventually it stops and a print action delivers a personalised composition to the participant. Every composition is unique as is one’s experience of the world in their formative years.

* Created as part of Design Studio 3 under the guidance of Hammet Nurosi, RISD 2019.
Script built by Travess Smalley.

These are some of the compositions that were created in the process.
